POLICE CYBERALARM / SENSOR SETUP & MANAGED HOSTING

Your firewall sees the threats. Let's make sure you do too.

There is a free, police-led service that helps UK businesses understand suspicious cyber activity and uncover known vulnerabilities across their websites and public-facing systems. It's called Police CyberAlarm. We get it working for you, from Secure Sensor setup to fully managed hosting and ongoing care.

Free police-led reports on suspicious activity and monthly vulnerability scanning. Affordable Rismor setup, with optional managed sensor hosting.

THE QUESTION WE KEEP ASKING

What if more
businesses could
actually see?

Cyber security shouldn't depend on the size of your IT department. Or whether you have one at all.

Your network faces unwanted attention every day. Your firewall works to protect it, but the information it records can be difficult to interpret, especially when you've got a business to run and no security specialist watching the logs.

Police CyberAlarm changes what's possible. This Home Office-funded service turns relevant firewall security activity into useful reports about potential threats. It also offers free monthly scanning for known vulnerabilities across registered websites and internet-facing IP addresses.

And we remove the work that gets in the way. Whether you're just discovering CyberAlarm, have registered but got stuck at the sensor installation, or have moved your infrastructure into the cloud, we'll help you get the benefit of it.

WHY WE THINK THIS MATTERS

A cyber incident can reach every corner of a business.

When ransomware brought down KNP Logistics, a 158-year-old company disappeared and hundreds of people lost their jobs. Marks & Spencer's 2025 cyber incident disrupted online sales and day-to-day operations. The consequences reached far beyond an IT department.

We want more UK businesses to have the chance to spot a known weakness, recognise suspicious activity and make better decisions while there is still time to act. Making those warnings and reports easier to access is why we're bringing Police CyberAlarm to more organisations.

ONE FREE POLICING SERVICE / TWO VALUABLE CAPABILITIES

The sensor sees the activity. The scans find the weaknesses.

Together, they help you understand both the threats reaching your business and the known vulnerabilities that may leave it exposed.

01THE SECURE SENSOR / SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY REPORTS

See who's knocking at your digital front door.

Your firewall is constantly dealing with connections from across the internet. Some are harmless. Others may be attempts to find a way into your business. The CyberAlarm Secure Sensor uses the activity your firewall already records to help Police CyberAlarm identify suspicious patterns.

Its reports show which countries suspicious connections appear to come from, which network ports are being targeted and where repeated attempts are happening. That could include unwanted connections to ports used by your SSL-VPN remote access tunnels, staff or customer portals, business phone system (PBX) or VPN links between branch networks. The exact service behind a connection depends on your firewall setup, and we can help you make sense of the reports.

What that means for you: Rather than leaving this activity buried in firewall records, you can see what's happening at the barrier between your business and the internet and decide where your security needs attention.

We handle the technical setup and ongoing sensor operation, either on your infrastructure or ours.

02MONTHLY VULNERABILITY SCANNING / INCLUDED FREE

Find out where attackers might find a way in.

Police CyberAlarm can check multiple websites and public IP addresses registered to your organisation every month for known security weaknesses. Its reports show what was found and which issues need attention first, helping you plan the right improvements.

What that means for you: Regular checks across your websites and systems accessible from the internet, so you know where problems may need fixing.

OUR PART / GETTING THE SENSOR WORKING

No spare server? No specialist? That's what we're here for.

You may already have signed up for CyberAlarm, only to reach the part that asks you to install a sensor and connect your firewall. Or you may be a cloud-first business that retired its last server years ago. You could simply be too busy looking after customers to add another technical system to your workload.

We've built our service around all three situations. We can install and configure the Secure Sensor on your own systems, or host and manage it on ours. We securely connect your firewall to the sensor, check that it's working and take care of the ongoing maintenance.

You get the reports. We take care of the technical setup behind them.

SERIOUS VALUE / A SENSIBLE PRICE

Security reports and regular checks that businesses pay for. The policing service is free.

Regular commercial vulnerability scanning is an ongoing cost. One UK provider lists £50 per month to scan a single external IP. Another lists £200 per month for routine monthly external vulnerability scanning. That is before you think about the additional value of understanding the activity targeting your network.

Police CyberAlarm provides its own monthly vulnerability scans and reports on suspicious firewall activity free to eligible UK businesses. Our fee is for the practical work that unlocks it: an affordable one-off setup and, if you'd like us to host your sensor, a small ongoing hosting and management charge.

For a business with multiple websites, IP addresses and online services, this puts regular security checks and helpful reports within reach at a fraction of the cost of building and operating a comparable collection of separate services.

QUESTIONS WE CAN ANSWER

It should be this accessible. Here's how.

I've signed up for CyberAlarm but can't install the sensor. Can you help?

Yes. That's exactly the kind of work we do. We can take care of installing, configuring and checking the Secure Sensor and the connection from your firewall.

We're fully cloud-based. Where does the sensor run?

With our managed hosting service, we give your sensor a home, securely receive the relevant firewall logs and look after the hosting and maintenance. You can keep your existing cloud-first way of working.

Can we scan several websites and IP addresses?

Yes. Police CyberAlarm lets members register multiple websites and internet-facing IP addresses for regular vulnerability scanning. We can help get your eligible assets registered and the scans activated.

Is the police service really free?

Yes. Police CyberAlarm is a Home Office-funded service, provided free to eligible organisations. Our own setup, hosting and ongoing management services are charged separately at an agreed, affordable price.

Does CyberAlarm need access to our emails or files?

No. The Secure Sensor uses details from your firewall about network connections, such as internet addresses, ports and times. Police CyberAlarm uses those details to identify suspicious activity; it does not collect the contents of your emails, files or other communications.

Can you help us understand and act on the reports?

Yes. We can help you review what the reports mean and work with you on sensible next steps, from addressing an exposed service to improving security settings.

Police CyberAlarm is a free UK policing service. We provide the independent setup, support and hosting that helps businesses use it. Explore Police CyberAlarm's official website.
